DL-Mercaptosuccinic acid - Production method
Maleic anhydride is hydrated to generate maleic acid, which is then reacted with hydrogen sulfide to prepare the product. Laboratory preparation can dissolve 23.2g malic acid and 20g thioacetic acid in 80ml ethyl acetate and reflux for 1h. After cooling, add 400ml benzene for extraction, add activated carbon for decolorization, filter to remove carbon, and recover benzene to obtain crude products. 32g acetyl thiomalic acid was refined with a melting point of 126 ℃. Further hydrolysis to obtain mercaptosuccinic acid.
